2016 Toyota Tacoma Overview
We all heard that Toyota announced its Tacoma pickup truck is going to come completely redesigned, and basically as a all new model. This is not completely true, because although the new model comes with certain really new updates, some of the the changes are part of the process Tacoma getting closer to the larger Tundra pickup trucks in terms of size, bulkiness and power.
Tacoma is by far the best selling small pickup in the United States, they outsell their closest rival in 2:1, but that’s not exactly odd because most of their rivals dropped from this race long ago, for example Ford Ranger, Dodge Dakota and there’s only Chevrolet Colorado that is still live and kicking, but of course much less popular than the pickup we are talking about here.

As we said earlier this model is getting closer to the Tundra, which is nothing weird when it comes to pickup truck class since most of the trucks of today look like their larger version in few years back. So we can expect larger, bulkier and more powerful Tacoma, with the tailgate and few other influences from Tundra especially in the back. Tailgate also comes with the spoiler and a mechanism that allows it to get lower slowly.
Front fascia is also much different and more modern. First we should mention the completely new LED running lights, as well as the new grille and much more chiseled hood than before.

When it comes to interior new model has some good and bad sides. It comes with little bit more hard plastic than previous models, and that makes it little bit nineties looking. On the other hand it also comes with some nice soft touch surfaces, as well as leather upholstery and user friendly front part.
Some of the main upgrades when it comes to interior of this model are in hi tech features area and the new model comes with push-power start, power moonroof, QI wireless charger and new audio system with touch screen display.

New models come with some top of the line safety features, including blind spot monitoring and cross traffic alert. Results of crush tests are still not available for this model.
2016 Toyota Tacoma Off Road Capability
This model continues the tradition of being a great off roader, same as the previous models. It comes with five trim levels, from base SR to posh Limited, among which TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road are the best for no pavement adventures. These trims come with Multi-Terrain Select system that allows the vehicle to adapt to any kind of terrain from mud to rock and snow. This system achieves this function by adjusting throttle response, brake pressure and wheelspin. There are also numerous additional off-road options like: slip locking rear differential, hill start assist, clutch start cancel, crawl and anti-traction control.

Almost all online reviewers greed that the old 4,0 liter V6 engine was weak. Now Toot decided to change it with the new 3,5 liter Atkinson cycle V6 engine. There are still no information about the new engine’s output, but it will definitely have more power and torque than previous 236 hp and 266 pound feet of torque. Standard version comes with the same four cylinder engine, which might get a little kick in power and torque, from the current 159 horsepower and 189 pound feet of torque.
