2015 volvo v60 cross country on 2014 la auto show

2015 Volvo V60 Cross Country Performance, Interior, Exterior Styling, Release Date, Price etc.

Overview

This new vehicle is a more rugged and performance oriented V60 wagon. Its engine is not much different than the one from the station wagon, but with its wider stance and more rugged appearance. New model is presented on this year’s LA Auto Show a month ago.

Exterior Styling

As we said already, new Cross Country model is much more off-road capable than the regular V60. It comes with higher ride, skid plates all around and reinforced and more emphasized fender flares. Ground clearance is lifted for 2,6 inches comparing to the regular V60 version. New model also comes with revised side sills and 18 or 19 inch alloy wheels that can be chosen.

Interior

There are still no information about this vehicle’s interior or the possibility of introducing an R design version. On the regular V60 with all wheel drive this version is considered to be the highest luxurious trim in the whole range.

2015 Volvo V60 Cross Country Performance

This vehicle comes with 2,5 liter inline five engine. This engine is capable of producing 250 horsepower and 266 pound feet of torque. All wheel drive is a standard option, together with Hill Descent Control. When we look at all this, V60 looks and feels like a real SUV, but it comes with regular unibody construction and much less weight, which makes it more fuel efficient and faster. Volvo announced that the new model is going to be able to reach 23 mpg in combined city and highway conditions.

Plans for the Future

This vehicle looks a lot of like the new XC70 model, only a little bit smaller, another competitor in this class is Volvo’s V90, which is probably going to get a Cross Country version as well, and then Volvo is going to become little more competitive when it comes to all wheel drive station wagon class. Its most fierce rival in this class is Subaru.

Price and Release Date

Price hasn’t been announced on the 2014 LA Auto Show, but we think that the new vehicle is going to cost a few thousand dollars more than the current V60 base version, which means that we can expect to pay from $38,000 to $40,000 for the base Cross country.

New vehicle is probably going to arrive at the showrooms in first few months of 2015.
