Short History and 2015 Chrysler 300 Overview
Chrysler 300 is a car with complicated production history. Like many of its rivals it saw many discontinuations and re-releases. First model came out in 1955, and it was considered to be a luxury sporty sedan. After 10 years of production, it was discontinued, and released in the seventies again, for another 10 years of production. Modern 300 came out in 2004 and it is based on LX platform, which comes with a lot of Mercedes Benz parts. 2015 Model ccame out with mid-cycle refreash, which is the first one since introduction of second generation vehicle.
While performance segment was kept almost unchanged, new model comes with some big changes in exterior styling and some interior improvements as well.
Exterior
Most drastic changes are the ones made in the exterior styling segment. 2015 Chrysler 300 comes with a new grille, redesigned headlights and chrome Mobious strip that surrounds the grille from bellow and headlights. Profile comes with high stance, bulky shoulders and big range of heels that go from 17 to 20 inch alloys. In the back changes go from redesigned stylized taillights, to spoiler that increases this vehicle’s racy look.
Interior
Interior is made much lore luxurious looking with increased number of aluminum and wood inserts. There is also a redesigned central console. New model contains standard amount of hi tech with 7 inches touch screen display and Uconnect infotainment system combined. In addition to the material upgrade, new model comes with new interior themes. These themes got their names by American cities like La Solla, Sausalito, Detroit and Manhattan.
Performance
Performance segment didn’t go under to many changes and the new models come with the old pair of engines. 3,6 liter Penstar V6 comes with 292 horsepower and 260 pound feet of torque output. Second is the 5,7 liter V8 that is able to produce 363 horsepower and 394 pound feet of torque. These models are able to reach 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. Only change in this segment is the replacement of old six speed automatic transmission with the new eight speed Torqueflite transmission.
2015 Chrysler 300 Price
Prices of this premium sedan range from $31,395 for the Limited trim level. Second two trim levels S and C cost $3,500 each and the highest C Premium trim can be bought for $42,395.
Competition
Main rivals of this model are two highly popular sedans from two other large American car manufacturers, Chevrolet Impala and Ford Taurus.
