500 units of 2016 Volvo S60 Cross Country are going to be offered on the American market. Reason for such a limited edition is that Volvo planed to offer more of these sport utility sedans in developing countries like India, Russia or Brazil.

While writing the review of 2016 Volvo S60 Cross Country we bumped into some really hot and sexy photo album, with two good looking bikini girls washing old Volvo vehicle. We knew that girls love Volvo cars, but we always imagined that Lexus, Merc or BMW are much more appealing for this kind of events. This old Volvo 850R, looks even better than all of the luxurious vehicles while being washed, and since I’m a nineties child, this is definitely one of the hottest car washes I’ve ever see, at least until I find these girls washing Golf 2.
This is totally new concept, and to be honest even we are not completely sure even Volvo can pull this right. S60 is a popular sedan from the Volvo line, and Cross Country is its sport utility version. We all saw the high interest in crossovers in last few years, than Volvo decided to go one step further and give all of its popular station vagon’s a more off-road capable almost crossover version, and all of these models got the Cross Country extension in their names. This is one step further from their already controversial plans. They decided to release the first crossover sedan vehicle, or the sedan with higher off-road capability.
We wrote about Cuba being a small treasure chest when it comes to classic US cars. Some really nice classic models can be found in Eastern Europe as well. Serbia was part of Yugoslavia which had its own auto industry. Most famous models that came from Serbia are Yugo and Zastava Skala. Later was one of the most modern designed vehicles at the time, when hatchbacks wasn’t as common as today. Yugo was the soul product of Yugoslav automotive industry and in the nineties it6 was a victim of a really bad media campaign, with it being declared as the worst car ever, which was followed by numerous sarcastic portraits in various American movies including Die Hard 3. On the other hand it is hard to deny that Yugo was one of the European vehicles that was exported to the United States, unlike numerous other vehicles from Italy, France, Germany and various other highly developed countries.
Serbian old timer enthusiasts from time to time organize open exhibitions and rides around towns. One of these exhibitions was held in Belgrade few moths ago, and my friend Slobodan Rudic, who’s also one of the owners of Work and Travel Iskustvo web site was there with his camera, and he took some really nice photos of some really nice machines including one beautiful Ford Thunderbird, similar to the model seen in American Graffiti. New model of this great crossover, received better gas mileage for 2015 model year, which comes directly from its new four cylinder engine, that was introduced in few other models from Volvo line up, mainly V70 and XC70.

This car needed 5 years to reach American market, it debuted in Europe in 1995, as a wagon version of S40, and the first model that was sold in the United states was made for 2000 model year. It was sold until 2004, and then it was discontinued in both Europe and America. European model was reintroduced in 2012, but for the American model we needed to wait for one more year. American Volvo fans needed to wait for one more year for the new model to be introduced, and when it reached American shores it came as quite of a surprise, because had much higher ride, bigger wheels and better off-road capability. It was also called V40 Cross Country. Similar Cross Country version of Volvo V60 was also introduced one year after and promoted on 2014 LA Auto Show.
This car is constantly changing. We are not talking about some cosmetic changes on the interior and exterior styling, but something much more drastic. Model we are talking about here is going to come with a new smaller turbocharged engine, that’s going to be placed in few other models of Volvo range. This way company will drastically cut the costs of these model’s production, plus the fuel economy is going to increase with the new line of engines that are not going to be bigger than four cylinders.

First luxury crossover made by Volvo debuted on 2002 North American Auto Show. Model we’re writing about here is the first second generation XC90, and the first completely new project since the beginning of cooperation between Volvo and Geely, Chinese company that replaced Ford in parenting Swedish Volvo. new vehicle comes with numerous updates from shedding 275 pounds of weight, new platform and engine range to introduction of plug in hybrid model, which is the only seven seater plug in hybrid on the market.
