2015 Buick Regal Overview and Short History

First model of this vehicle was launched in 1973, and it was made to compete with Chevy Monte Carlo, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and Pontiac Grand Prix on an aspiring luxury mid-size sedan market of seventies America. Until than this vehicle went through five different generations and one 5 year long pause in production. Today’s model is a Fifth generation vehicle and it was introduced in 2009 and it is based on Epsilon 2 platform. In Europe it is sold under the Opel insignia name, and it is also sold in China and some other world markets. It is designed by Mark Adams and Malcom Ward and is assembled in China, United States and Germany (Opel Insignia). Current model came with new IntelliLink infotainment system, bigger touch screen display and turbocharged engines in all non-hybrid versions.

Exterior Styling

This vehicle is known to be one of the best looking vehicles in GM range. With Nike sign looking door ornaments this vehicle comes with the best looking doors out of all four-door vehicles on American market. It might come with 19 or 20 inch alloy wheels that are here more to tribute the good old American car look than to increase functionality and maneuverability. One of the best looking part of this vehicle’s exterior design are its head and taillights that come with LED wings installed inside. From headlamps and grille all across the profile there is a shinny metallic band that goes all the way to the rear end.

Interior

Interior styling comes with a lot of upscale details like flashy light and metallic ornaments that give the luxury feel to this vehicle’s cabin. One of the biggest problems and lacks in this model is the rear seat space which is little bit smaller than in some other vehicles in this class. Although rear space is slightly bigger than the one seen in Acura TSX for example. Cargo area is also not too big. Biggest change when it comes to interior is the new redesigned IntelliLink infotainment system that comes with much bigger touch screen display.

2015 Buick Regal Performance

Both Turbo and GS trim levels come with same twin turbocharged 2,0 liter four cylinder engines. In turbo trim level this engine is able to produce 220 horsepower and GS trim it can produce 270 horsepower. Acceleration is arou8nd average in both trim levels and they are able to reach 60 mph in less than 7 seconds. There’s also a mild hybrid version, it comes with combination of 2,4 liter four cylinder engine, which is able to produce 182 horsepower with electric motor, lithium ion battery pack and six speed automatic transmission. All versions come with Interactive Drive Control which comes with a few driving modes, for different road and weather conditions.

Price

Price range of 2015 Buick Regal goes from $29,990 for the base version to $39,810 for the most expensive version of GS trim level, that comes with 270 hp turbocharged four cylinder engine and all wheel drive.
