2016 Cadillac ATS-V Overview

New model comes with more power than anybody would thought, it is one of the rear moments when the reality wins over the rumors in automotive world. This vehicle has much more to offer in the performance segment with the two transmission system on offer and top notch safety features that make this vehicle one of the top safety picks in recent years. This model is scheduled to start its sales in spring of 2015.

Exterior

New model comes with a lot of exterior features that support its sportiveness and are placed to increase this vehicle’s performance segment to the maximum. It comes with larger grille openings, heat extractor that’s placed on carbon fiber hood, which is almost lighter than air. New model comes with 18 inch alloy wheels wrapped in high performance Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Depending on the package the new model might come with more carbon fiber elements like front splitter, rear diffuser etc and the Track trim level offers some option of its own, like Performance data recorder, low mass battery etc.

Interior

In Track trim floor mats are eliminated to save a few extra pounds, although it is hard to imagine that the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V can be any lighter than its 3,700 pounds. Base version comes with cloth seats with suede inserts, and Recarro seats with suede and leather come as an additional option. When it comes to hi tech, ATS-V comes with CUE infotainment system.

2016 Cadillac ATS-V Performance

This segment is the most important one for this model year, since the new ATS-V comes with the first twin-turbocharged engine in its production history. It comes with very high output of 455 horsepower and 445 pound feet of torque. New model is able to reach speed of 60 mph in only 3,9 seconds and its maximum speed is rated at 185 mph.

When it comes to transmission, buyers have to choose between six speed manual transmission that comes with Active Rev Match, no lift shifting and launch control and eight speed automatic with paddle shifter, Performance Algorithm shift and standard launch control.

2016 Cadillac ATS-V will also come with highly praised Brempo high performance brake system., third generation magnetic ride control, chassis controls etc. New model also has 25% more structural stiffness, three drive modes to select from sport, to touring and track.

Price

There’s still no information about the price of 2016 Cadillac ATS-V.  Price wasn’t mentioned in a long press release that company gave few days prior to the 2014 LA Auto Show.

Competition

Traditional competitors of this sporty coupe are BMW M4, Mercedes AMG C63 and Audi RS5.
