2017 Ford F150 Raptor Overview
It is unbelievable how short sighted American buyers are, standing in lines for buying a gasoholic pickup truck just few years after the end of Economic Crises. But who care about that anyway. Important thing is that new Raptor is out and it was presented on 2015 North American International Auto show. New generation comes with a new turbocharged engine, that brings much more power and torque and there’s also much more off-road capability, if that is even possible, and few cosmetic changes on the outside, all packed into the new construction that was taken from the new generation F150 pickup truck.

As we said in the overview, new Raptor comes with increased presence of aluminum, same as the new generation F150, but it also has the improved steel frame which allows it to handle well the full throttle, to jump over big rocks. Front fenders are made out of composite materials and they look bigger than ever and add up a lot on this vehicle rugged looks. Hood is also made out of composites and in combination with aluminum panels it makes new generation model more than 500 pounds lighter, which will increase its fuel efficiency… a little bit.
Styling changed only for a little bit and included a slight upkick in the back which makes it look much more powerful, and one of the exterior design features this truck is famous for, big Ford signature on the grill e was kept intact. Above and under the lettering we can see another six mark lights which are a federal must for a truck this big. In addition to this lights new model comes with LED accent lighting all over the place and few vents (on fenders and hoods) that make it look even more performance oriented.

2017 Ford F150 Raptor Engine, Performance and Fuel Efficiency
One of the key new features of second generation model is better fuel efficiency. Although this sounds a little bit funny for the truck this big and powerful, new model will probably come with fuel efficiency increase due to aluminum and composite materials introduction into its construction and the new twin-turbocharged engine.
Yes you heard it well, the old 6,2 liter V8 that was able to produce 411 horsepower will be replaced with 3,6 liter twin-turbocharged engine that’s going to produce from 450 to 500 horsepower, and we will have the exact figures as soon as Ford decides to share them officially. Similar engine built in EcoBoost technology could be found in regular F150 model.
