2015 models

This model year is going to bring us some nice new and redesigned models. Star among the 2015 rookies is the Jeep Renegade. This vehicle took the name of the Jeep Wrangler’s trim level, but in fact it is a very different vehicle. It is the first Jeep completely produced outside United States, and it is based on the same platform as the Fiat 500X. It is one of the first original product of Fiat-Chrysler co-op and even before its release it took a lot of headlines in the automotive press.

From the redesigned models one of the biggest stars is the light weight redesigned Ford F150. It received aluminum chassis, which increased its fuel efficiency drastically, although while working on the light weight F150 project, Ford neglected some other segments of this vehicle that traditionally are some of the most competitive ones in this class in recent years. They will have next few model years to tune the whole vehicle up, and secure its leading position on the best selling  vehicle’s list.

F150 is not the only redesigned truck in 2015 model year. Two GM’s star trucks are coming out with number of updates, Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Canyon will try to compete with the redesigned F150, while the new Chevy Express is going to compete with Ford Transit Connect light duty truck.

In the sedan class one of the most notable new models in 2015 is the Chrysler’s 200 mid-size sedan line up, while Hyundai Genesis, Nissan Versa Note and Subaru Legacy are coming with major redesigns.

When it comes to performance we will see more power and torque in the new BMW M3 and M4. Lexus also plans to conquer this class with its redesigned RC F Coupe. We will also see the new Jaguar F Type coupe vehicle, Golf R which is coming after some time and last but not least is the Subaru WRX STI. Dodge plans to widen up its Hellcat brand with a new Charger SRT.

In the crossover class, one of the biggest releases is the Land Rover’s Discovery Sport, which is going to wide Land Rover’s range and direct it towards more elegant and luxurious crossovers, similar to the ones that were coming from Range Rover all these years. This vehicle is very similar to the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Evoque.

Another big news for 2015 model year is the return of Alfa Romeo to the American market. They’ll be coming with a all new model called Alfa Rome Giulia, coupe that will compete with BMW 3 Series and Jaguar XE.

When it comes to mini-vans, we can expect all new Ford Galaxy. This vehicle is going to receive completely new platform, and it is going to share it with Edge, S-MAX and Mondeo. It will also come with new range of engines, that go from turbocharged engines made with the EcoBoost technology, to the diesel options. There are also rumors about Ford planing to release hybrid version of this popular MPV.
