2016 Volvo S60 Cross Country Overview
This is totally new concept, and to be honest even we are not completely sure even Volvo can pull this right. S60 is a popular sedan from the Volvo line, and Cross Country is its sport utility version. We all saw the high interest in crossovers in last few years, than Volvo decided to go one step further and give all of its popular station vagon’s a more off-road capable almost crossover version, and all of these models got the Cross Country extension in their names. This is one step further from their already controversial plans. They decided to release the first crossover sedan vehicle, or the sedan with higher off-road capability.
Numerous crossover vehicles are chosen because of their high ride and easier enter and exit, so we already witnessed many of the hard core sedan lovers replacing their vehicles with crossovers in last few years. This model will offer something new for the hard core sedan lovers, and that’s the high ride sedan, capable of getting dirty in the off-road conditions.

This car will offer 2,5 inches high ride, this will enable it to drive through the deep snow, muddy roads or to get over the bumps of moderate size. It will also come with much bigger wheels, we’re talking about 18 and 19 inch alloys. Together with all of the features that are offered with regular S60 models it will get better cabin soundproof, and it will be able to find its way much quicker on the challenging off-road surfaces. It will also have skid plates in the front and rear, scuff plates and protective wheel lip trim.

This crossover-sedan will be powered with five cylinder engine that’s capable of producing 250 horsepower and it will be combined with all wheel drive, which is going to be another crossover feature it will come with.

On the inside this sedan will come with all the premium goodies we saw in previous S60 versions this includes some really good safety gear, which became traditional when it comes to Volvo, Sensus Connect infotainment system combined with standard navigation and comfortable and supportive seats that have also been upgraded from the last year’s regular S60 version.
2016 Volvo S60 Cross Country Release Date
As you already know, this vehicle has been presented on the 2015 North American international Auto Show few weeks ago in Detroit’s Cobo Center and it will arrive at the showroms in the summer of 2015.
