2015 Volvo XC60 Exterior Styling

This vehicle replaced typical Volvo station wagon look with a crossover shape long ago, but now it brings some additional wagon elements into the picture, which makes it almost perfect crossover utility vehicle, perfect for family rides. Its looks are made out of up-swept belt line, rakish angles and smooth lines. It is a total opposite 0f the old boxy station wagons Volvo used to produce, and out of all crossovers made by this manufacturer XC60 gave the best combination of the good old wagon look and the new crossover elements. When it comes to details this model comes with little bit sleeker grille, slimmer bumpers and lower ride. It also has a recognizable chrome diagonal line that goes across the grille as well as the popular metallic badge in the center. Another update is that in the new model year the whole vehicle is painted in one color which gives it little bit more elegant look.

2015 Volvo XC60 Interior

From this model year on Volvo decided to introduce much more shared parts into its new models. For this purpose they introduced the new turbocharged four cylinder engine, but also that’s why XC60 shares the same dashboard with S60 and V60. Like in previous models floating central console was kept, but this piece of furniture inside the cabin is not as fresh as it used to be.  When it comes to hi tech this model comes with Thin Film Transistor, display with all cluster instruments gathered in one place. In standard version there’s also a cruise control, moonroof, HD and satellite radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. In higher trim levels like the FWD 2,0 liter engine version, there is additional keyless drive and power panoramic roof. T6 is the most expensive trim level and it comes in three versions, and can also be bought with two packages Technological and Climate. Tech package comes with numerous additional safety features while Climate package comes with heated and ventilated front seats and better climate control. To go back to the hi tech field, if you choose T6 you’ll get Personal Car Communicator system, which detects security issues.

When it comes to seating this model comes with comfortable and supportive seats for five adults and plenty of cargo space. Although it looks much sleeker than the old Volvo station wagons, it has the same amount of interior space. In standard version seats come with cloth upholstery, while two tone leather upholstery is available in higher trim levels.

2015 Volvo XC60 Performance

New model comes much lighter than previous ones, that’s also one of the reasons for better fuel economy and improved performance. Another reason is the new E Drive turbocharged direct injected engine, that spread across the Volvo range . This engine in the base version is 2,0 liter big and it comes with 240 horsepower. There’s also a boosted version that is able to achieve 302 horsepower output. This is just a beginning when it comes to this engine range, since Volvo plans to make additional three and six cylinder versions, so the whole range of Volvo cars will come with improved stats.  Models with E Drive engines come with front wheel drive and two driving modes Sport and Eco+.

For the AWD lovers, there’s also traditional bigger XC60 that comes with all wheel drive and bigger 3,2 litre six cylinder engine. this engine comes with 240 horsepower, and it used to be top of the range powertrain until the new E Drive arrived. This is probably the last year of this six cylinder, since it is much less fuel efficient and responsive than the new E Drive. AWD models also come with more powerful 3,0 liter turbocharged powertrain that is able to produce 300 horsepower and 325 pound feet of torque. It can reach 60 mph in 7 seconds and it is nothing special comparing to the boosted E drive version.
