Overview

Currently this is one of the most popular Jaguar vehicles, it was launched in 2012, as a successor of E Type. When it comes to 2016 model, it was first presented in South Africa ahead of 2014 LA Auto Show where this vehicle had its official debut. New model comes with more traction, better AWD and stronger acceleration.

Exterior

There’s not much difference between AWD and RWD versions when it comes to exterior styling. Only experts can spot that the hood of AWD model is placed a little higher, to give enough space for the front differential that is placed under the engine. It also has more separated vents on the aluminum bonnet than the ones seen on the RWD.

Shape of this vehicle was branded as a design miracle. It comes with rear active spoiler J Blade headlamps, sweeping roofline and muscular and bulgy looking rear fenders.

Interior

When it comes to interior updates, these are introduced in the whole F Type range, not just inside the AWD coupe. Most of the updates deal with hi tech, with an updated infotainment system, that also comes with some new applications like telematics and InControl features. New vehicle also comes with much better sound system, we’re talking about 770 watt Meridian combined with HD and Sirius Satellite radio. There’s also a SmartKey keyless entry, that’s now part of the standard package, together with panoramic glass roof and 14-way power-adjustable seats.

2016 Jaguar F Type AWD Performance

Base level Coupe is the only trim level that doesn’t come with AWD, There are two engine options, one of them being a 3,0 liter V6 that’s able to produce 380 horsepower and 339 pound feet of torque, while the second engine seen in some higher trim levels is the 5,0 liter V8 with a 550 horsepower and 502 pound feet of torque output. These engines are paired with automatic transmission that comes with all trim levels, or with manual six speed transmission that comes only with RWD F Type, the ones with a V6 engine.

Depending on the trim level 2016 Jaguar F Type can reach 60 mph in 3,9 or 4,9 seconds. All trim levels come with the same maximum speed of 186 mph.

AWD comes with numerous fancy hi tech solutions like Inteligent Driveline Dynamics, which is a control system that increases benefits of AWD, without messing up with the vehicle’s dynamics.

Price

There are still no information about this model’s price, but we think that the AWD version is going to be sold for around $100,000 without any extra charges, packages or options.

Competition

Two main rivals of Jaguar F Type are the Porsche Carrera 911 with whom F Type went into a feud since its first release and Audi R8.
