New VW Gold beat all of its competitors and won Motor Trend’s Car of the Year award. Most fierce rival in this year’s competition was Audi A3. Other competitors were: 2015 Ford Mustang, BMW 2 Series, Honda Fit, Hyundai Genesis, Kia Sedona, Lexus RC, Mercedes S Class and Masserati Ghibli.
So why Golf won over all these nice cars. It is because its range offers vast number of different versions that can satisfy even the pickiest buyers like Motor Trend’s Chief Editor Ed Loh, who said:”VW floored our judges by reimagining the seventh generation Golf for nearly every need and want” (quote from Autoblog)
Golf range really is impressive, it goes from value concerning to high performance and all electric vehicles. How much will this award influence the seventh generation VW Golf sales, we need to wait and see.
